Wellness in Marbella ranges from the spas of the big Golden Mile and Benahavís hotels to medically supervised fasting clinics, yoga and Pilates programmes and massages in your own villa. Marbella One is a digital concierge app in Marbella that helps you request spa treatments and wellness bookings across the Costa del Sol through Marco, its AI assistant.
This guide covers what each spa offers, the changes of 2025–2026 (openings, rebrands and new operators), indicative prices with their sources, and practical booking advice.
Which are the leading hotel spas in Marbella?
Four hotels account for most of the luxury spa scene in and around Marbella, each with a different focus: hydrotherapy and hammam, seawater thalassotherapy, a large thermal circuit or high-end skincare.
Six Senses Spa Puente Romano has a hammam, sauna, herbal steam room, cold plunge pool, ice fountain, an indoor pool with hot tubs and six treatment rooms. Marbella Club Thalasso Spa is built around thalassotherapy, with a seawater pool, jets and hydro-massage beds. Anantara Villa Padierna Palace in Benahavís has a stand-alone spa of around 2,000 sq m with an aromatic circuit (steam rooms, sea-salt hammam, saunas, heated pool, flotarium) and a Roman bath. Don Carlos, in Elviria, reopened in July 2025 after a full renovation, with an indoor spa using Natura Bissé.
| Spa | Area | What sets it apart | Open to non-residents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Six Senses Spa Puente Romano | Golden Mile | Hammam, hydrotherapy, indoor pool | Yes: wet-area pass (approx. €90 for 1 hr) |
| Marbella Club Thalasso Spa | Golden Mile | Seawater thalassotherapy | Check with the hotel |
| Anantara Spa Villa Padierna | Benahavís | Aromatic circuit and Roman bath | Yes, via day packages (16+) |
| Don Carlos Spa | Elviria (east) | Natura Bissé rituals | Check with the hotel |
Which spas have opened or been rebranded in 2025 and 2026?
Several familiar names no longer exist in their old form, which is worth knowing before you search or book.
- Kempinski Hotel Bahía (Estepona): closed in September 2025, joined Meliá's The Meliá Collection brand and reopened in July 2026 as Hacienda del Mar, member of The Meliá Collection. Its new MAIA SPA has six treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool, a Finnish sauna and a steam room.
- Healthouse Las Dunas (Estepona): the hotel at km 163.5 on the Marbella–Estepona road now trades as Grand Hotel Las Dunas, Autograph Collection (Marriott), with the Serena Spa. Guests must be 18 or over to check in.
- Don Carlos Marbella: reopened in July 2025 after a full refurbishment and is developing an integrative and longevity medicine space.
- Casa La Mariposa: Maria Buchinger's former villa opened in May 2026 as a private Buchinger Wilhelmi retreat, with a heated pool, sauna, gym and yoga studio.
How much does a spa day in Marbella cost?
Published prices are 'from' rates and vary by season. Treat them as a budgeting guide rather than a final quote.

|---|---|---|
| Six Senses Puente Romano wet area (non-residents) | Approx. €90 for 1 hr / €180 half day | Puente Romano website |
| Six Senses Puente Romano treatments (50–80 min) | From approx. €245–345 | Puente Romano website |

What is Buchinger Wilhelmi Marbella and how do its programmes work?
Buchinger Wilhelmi is a medically supervised therapeutic fasting clinic set between the Sierra Blanca mountains and the sea. It is not a day spa: programmes are residential stays with accommodation, a 24-hour doctor and nursing team, and lab tests at the start and end.
The minimum stay is seven nights on the diet programme (no fasting) and ten nights on the Compact fast. Classic Light, Classic and Classic Royal run for 14, 21 and 28 nights. Every package includes a €45-per-night therapy voucher, with anything beyond that billed separately, plus group activities such as walks, Pilates, qi-gong and cookery demonstrations.
Expect a calm setting with clear house rules, including no smoking and no phones in shared areas. Since May 2026 there is also Casa La Mariposa, a private villa where guests can also follow the Buchinger fasting programme.
Where can you do yoga and Pilates in Marbella?
Several hotels build yoga and Pilates into their wellness offer, often as multi-day programmes.
- Six Senses Spa Puente Romano: Yogic Sleep (yoga nidra, pranayama and meditation), Yogic Detox (hatha yoga and detox treatments) and Discover Yoga, with private sessions. The resort also offers Pilates and a fitness centre with a boxing studio.
- Don Carlos Wellness: yoga, Pilates, barre, sound healing, meditation and retreats in a 20,000 sq m tropical garden on Elviria beach.
- Buchinger Wilhelmi and Casa La Mariposa: Pilates, qi-gong and yoga as part of the fasting and diet programmes.
How do in-villa massages work?
Plenty of therapists and companies in Marbella travel to villas and apartments with a table, oils and towels. It is a relaxed option if you are staying in a villa in Nueva Andalucía, Sierra Blanca or Benahavís, or travelling as a group and would rather not move.
Before booking, get written confirmation of the full price (including any call-out charge), the actual treatment time and the cancellation terms. Set aside a quiet space of roughly 2 × 3 metres, with a socket nearby if a heated table is used. Mention any injury, pregnancy or medical condition when you book, as you would at a spa. For couples or groups, ask whether two therapists can come at the same time.
How far ahead should you book, and what should you know?
Popular treatments and time slots go quickly, particularly at weekends and in summer. The safest approach is to book the spa when you book your stay and, if your preferred slot is taken, ask to join the waiting list.
- Seasonal hours: Six Senses Puente Romano opens 9.30am–9pm from June to September and 11am–7.30pm for the rest of the year. The Anantara spa opens 10am–8pm.
- Arrive early: 30–45 minutes before your treatment to enjoy the thermal facilities.
- Minimum age: Anantara admits guests aged 16 and over; check each spa's policy.
- Non-residents: not every hotel opens its spa to outside guests, so always ask.
- Cancellations: terms are not always published, so request them in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Puente Romano spa without staying at the resort?
Yes. Puente Romano publishes wet-area passes for outside guests: approx. €90 for one hour and €180 for a half day, subject to availability.
Is the Kempinski Bahía in Estepona still open?
Not under that name. It closed in September 2025 and reopened in July 2026 as Hacienda del Mar, member of The Meliá Collection, with a new spa called MAIA SPA.
What happened to Healthouse Las Dunas?
The Estepona hotel now operates as Grand Hotel Las Dunas, Autograph Collection (Marriott), with the Serena Spa. If you are after a specific medical programme, check with the hotel what is still offered.
What is the minimum stay at Buchinger Wilhelmi Marbella?
Seven nights on the non-fasting diet programme and ten nights on the shortest fast (Compact). The classic programmes run from 14 to 28 nights.
When is the best time for a wellness trip to Marbella?
October to May is quieter and slots are easier to find. Spas extend their hours in summer, but you will need to book further ahead.
How Marbella One helps
With Marbella One you tell Marco, the app's AI assistant, what you have in mind: a spa circuit, a couples' massage at your villa or a private yoga class. Marco prepares the request and sends it to the spa or provider; once they accept it, you are notified that it is confirmed. Marco is available 24 hours a day in 14 languages, through the iPhone and Android app or at concierge.marbellaone.es.
Opening times, prices and seasons can change, so always check with the venue. Marbella One does not charge for bookings; a request is only confirmed once the venue or provider accepts it.
